Amanda Amburgey

Amanda Amburgey, MA, RYI, CMT (Shiatsu, Thai and Swedish massage) Her passion for yoga shines in every class! Amanda is a certified massage therapist and integrates her deep knowledge of anatomy, physiology and Traditional Chinese Medicine into her classes. She encourages both strength and surrender in the wide range of classes she teaches. Over the last decade Amanda has taught Prenatal, Restorative, Yin, Vinyasa Flow, and Foundations of Yoga classes. She completed advanced training with master yogini Shiva Rea and is certified to teach Prana Flow Yoga an embodied way to experience the majesty of our energetic, united full beings!

Joan Chanpong

Joan Chanpong was first introduced to yoga in 2002. After finding that movement and breath awareness helped calm her mind and body, Joan felt the need to share her knowledge, so that others might also reap the benefits of yoga. After receiving her teacher certification from Corepower Yoga, Joan set out with the goal of helping make yoga accessible to students of all levels. She has attended numerous workshops and seminars with influential yoga teachers such as Natasha Rizopoulos, Janet Stone, Seane Corn, John Friend, Kenny Graham and Samantha Shakti Brown. Joan’s willingness to incorporate ideas from a variety of yoga styles and diversify her knowledge and practice helps keep her classes fresh and dynamic. Those who attend Joan’s classes can expect a focus on proper alignment, posture, and the awareness of how one’s breath deeply affects the body and mind. Her classes are at once playful, informative, and introspective, as she draws from the experiences from all her teachers, both on and off the mat.
 

Patti Massey

In 2003 Patti discovered yoga after years of feeling the impacts of aerobics, running and spin classes, and sitting on the job. From the first days, yoga became a path that lead Patti to finding new energy, more joy, compassion for herself and others, and more community and connectedness of body and spirit. Patti makes yoga accessible to all and invites students to find a personal and joyful connection with yoga and the community. In her energetic, alignment focused classes she encourages and supports each student to move beyond messages of limitations to experience their present day personal edge. From the energetic vinyasa and playful partner asana to the quiet practices of yin and restorative, Patti’s yoga classes support her students’ growth in personal yoga practice, sports, and contemplative practices that open both the mind and body. Patti’s students say they leave her classes more refreshed and energized and feeling more capable and unjudged. Patti Massey is a Yoga Alliance RYT-200 teacher with a focus in hatha vinyasa. In addition she is certified in Yin and Restorative Yoga and is currently pursuing her Joy of Yoga RYT-500 certification.
All proceeds from this class benefit the community! DYS teachers and staff donate time and resources so that we can offer affordable, accessible yoga to everyone and directly pass on 100% of proceeds to charities who work tirelessly for the benefit of others! $10 minimum donation requested. 
 
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a flowing sequence of postures combining breath and movement. Build heat from the inside and out, core strength, stamina and flexibility in this class. This is an all-levels class, with modifications provided for all levels of practitioners.
