Sima completed her 200 hour Hatha-Vinyasa teacher training with Angie Poon and Noell Clark. She has spent the summer providing yoga for the downtown community, encouraging residents to patronize St. James Park through the city program; "Summer in St. James." Sima's curiosity of meditation and enlightenment led her into her first yoga class as a teen. Since then her practice has guided her into the present moment, leaving behind the past and allowing the future to bring whatever it has in store. She developed a passion for passing this guidance onto others through the connection of movement and prana. Sima's practice brings to life the importance of our connection to Mother Earth and the Self. She expresses the necessity of kindness, compassion and the essence of all things through mantra, accenting the Yoga Sutras and guidance through asana practice. Her classes are offered to all levels. Sima encourages students' happiness through smiles, breath, asana, awareness and leaving with a heart filled with positivity.
Sima Mehrbod instructs the following:
A flowing sequence of postures combining breath and movement. Build heat from the inside and out, core strength, stamina and flexibility in this class. This is an all-levels class, with modifications provided for all levels of practitioners.
A slower sequence of flowing postures synchronizing breath with movement. Ideal for beginners and intermediate students. Modifications may be suggested for all levels of practitioners.
